This temple is one of many dotting the city of Tomohon in North Sulawesi province, Indonesia. Home to at least five religions, among them Buddhism, North Sulawesi hosts Chinese/Buddhist temples, mosques, and Christian churches alike.
The Vihara Buddhayana's most eye-catching feature is its eight-floor pagoda (far right), which gives visitors a sweeping view of Mt. Lokon, one of Indonesia's numerous active volcanoes, on the other side.
